Following the Herd Won’t Make You a Thought Leader Online

Advice from an attorney on why trying to follow someone else’s content is costing you the sales & impact you want….

THE PROBLEM

Changemakers usually aren’t attention grabbers. We’re pretty happy doing the work, making massive change, and getting results…

…But staying invisible is the exact thing that keeps our purpose and impact limited.

And yet, we post whatever we think we’re supposed to say and show up as…

…and then, we find our content lays flat. It is unclear, inconsistent….and doesn’t get us anywhere. Minimal to no engagement and sales.

The mismatch is apparent: your online presence doesn’t match your real-world brilliance – and it’s driving you crazy.

The biggest cost of all? Not getting to help all the people who need you right now, and make a bigger impact….

That’s why you share random thoughts as a stream of consciousness – throwing spaghetti at the wall hoping it leads to clients, without any clear direction or message…

And why you find yourself questioning how to be authentic…to the point you’ve become inauthentic to your own purpose – avoiding sharing what you’re actually here to share with the world, and staying in the friend zone….

And it’s why you stay a f*cking brilliant expert in real life, when your online audience would never know it

THE REFRAME

But just like the best legal arguments – thought leadership & online impact don’t come from guesswork how you’re supposed to sound or from borrowing someone else’s template.

It comes from having clarity of your core message.

One that stems from your life and professional struggles, lessons, and experience, purpose, unique perspective, and what you are meant to be known for.

And when you know how to leverage your unique expertise, genius, and gifts and position that to the dream clients you’re here to serve and want to attract, that’s when you make massive impact and money online as a Changemaker.

And you realize that you never had to shrink yourself into someone else, or be “louder” in order to be heard by the right people.

THE STRATEGY

So choose one idea worth being known for.

Develop one core message you want to stand for in your brand.

Don’t let it be borrowed, vague, or random. Let it be you.

And connect it tangibly and deeply to your expertise you’re here to share, the needs of your dream client, and what offer(s) you’re actually selling.
